A Latin Social Club in the DMV.

For All Generations.

This is really just an excuse to hang out together.

Lolo’s Social Club was born from our abuelo, Manuel “Lolo” Hidalgo Sr. and his love of weekend paseos, even when he was unable to walk. We rolled him around tropical gardens, salsa clubs, and late-night book clubs. His curiosity of the world, sense of adventure, and devotion to family, connected us from Maryland to Miami.

Now we host a bi-monthlyish social club in his honor. A night of live music, dancing, and dominoes, for all generations.

DJ Bala

Jessie Gomez, known as DJ Bala, is a Silver Spring native whose name draws from her lifelong connection to soccer. Nicknamed “La Bala Gomez” by her father growing up, she carried the energy and identity of that name into her work behind the decks. DJ Bala has played everything from EDM house parties and formals to salsa socials.

Hidalgo-Suarez Family

The Hidalgo-Suarez family began with the love story of Manuel Hidalgo and Eloísa Suarez, one of fourteen siblings raised on a lively family farm in Cuba. Their bond grew into a lifelong partnership shaped by faith, exile, and rebuilding together in the United States. They raised five children as they made their way from Atlanta, Virginia, and Chicago, before settling in Miami.
